London Learns About Sanya - the Chinese 'Hawaii'

Over fifty members of London’s international tourism community recently assembled at the Kensington Close Hotel to receive a multi-media presentation about the amazing growth of the Chinese resort city of Sanya, presented by a range of travel experts and representatives from Sanya and the London office of China National Tourism Administration.
Sanya beach
Sanya is a tropical city on Hainan Island and China’s most southerly city. It describes itself as an international boutique city, with long stretches of silver white sandy beaches, water sports, rainforest hiking courses and many golf courses.
It has also witnessed a massive investment in new hotel stock and many international hotel chains have recently opened their doors in order to meet the needs of the sophisticated international travel market. It’s also a retail paradise boasting the world’s largest shopping mall.
Sanya, China
The Sanya delegation included representatives of the Sanya Tourism and Hainan Tourism Associations, Sanya Phoenix International Airport and Resort Intime Sanya and the impressive speakers list included representatives from China National Tourism Administration and the China Business Network in London, CTS Horizons, the BBC and Conference and Meetings World magazine.

This event was part of a European promotion that also included a similar event in Berlin and attendance at the ITB Berlin tourism exhibition and it marks the start of a campaign to attract more leisure and business travelers from Europe to the city of Sanya on the Island of Hainan that is already being called China’s ‘Hawaii’.
