On 29th November 2024, the UN Ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel near Tower Bridge in London was brightly lit and bustling with energy, in sharp contrast to the typical grey winter weather outside. Air China’s London Office, in collaboration with Shenzhen Airlines, hosted a grand year-end customer appreciation event. The occasion aimed to express heartfelt gratitude to customers and partners for their support and trust over the past year, while further strengthening their deep friendships and reinforcing close ties with partners across various sectors.

The event was a distinguished gathering, attended by around 120 representatives from the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Chinese-funded enterprises, mainstream media, the 48 Group, Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, travel agencies, online travel platforms (OTAs), and travel management companies (TMCs), among other organisations. The atmosphere was formal yet lively, harmonious and friendly, as the guests and Air China’s team jointly reviewed the remarkable achievements and collaborations of 2024 and looked forward to the new journey ahead in 2025.

In the speech of Mr. Xia Baohui, General Manager of Air China’s London Office, noted that 2024 was a pivotal year for Air China and Shenzhen Airlines in deepening their presence in the UK market. Against the backdrop of the accelerated recovery of the global aviation industry and China’s high-quality economic development, Air China has continued to optimise its route network and enhance service quality, providing robust support for trade, cultural exchanges, and travel between China and the UK. He highlighted that Air China and Shenzhen Airlines operate in an integrated and collaborative manner in the UK, firmly upholding the “one family” philosophy. With up to 64 flights per week, they remain the leading carrier between China and the UK. To enhance passenger experience, Air China has deployed the advanced A350 aircraft on its UK routes, offering free in-flight internet services, making journeys smarter and more convenient. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the “Phoenix Miles” loyalty programme, which recently celebrated with a grand ceremony in China, becoming a hot topic in domestic news. Mr. Xia emphasised Air China’s commitment to its customer-centric service philosophy, recognising that the unwavering support of its customers and partners is the cornerstone of its thriving growth.

The event featured inspiring speeches from Ms. Cai Yanyan, Minister Counsellor from the Chinese Embassy in the UK, and Mr. Jack Perry, Chairman of The 48 Group. They highly commended Air China’s pivotal role in driving the recovery of the China-UK aviation market and expressed hopes for further collaboration in the future. The evening also included an exciting interactive prize draw and a heartfelt appreciation banquet, demonstrating sincere gratitude to the company’s partners.

Guests expressed that Air China plays an irreplaceable role as a bridge in the China-UK aviation market, not only providing convenient and efficient services for travel between the two countries but also injecting new vitality into multi-sector collaboration between China and the UK. Together, they look forward to deepening cooperation with Air China in more areas and creating a bright future.
