Hebei

Located in the heart of the North China Plain and enclosing Beijing and Tianjin, Hebei Province covers an area of nearly 190,000 sq km and has a population of over 63 million. 
Hebei has become a pearl of China's tourism and an ideal tourist destination, due to its well-developed transportation, beautiful environment, agreeable weather, rich tourism resources and improving reception facilities. Hebei boasts not only the wide expanses of the Central Hebei Plain, but also the multiple-ranged Taihang Mountains and Yanshan Mountains with numerous perilous peaks and grotesque rock formations. The green mountains, clear waters, sea beaches, vast plains and luxuriant forests jointly constitute a well-arranged and colorful landscape. The famous places of interest and scenic spots include Chengde Mountain Resort& the Eight Outer Temples, the Great Wall, Mulan Imperial Hunting Ground, the Western Qing Tombs, Beidaihe, Yesanpo, etc, among which Chengde Mountain Resort and the Eight Outer Temples, and the Great Wall have been inscribed on the UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List.
 

Baiyangdian Lake

As the largest freshwater lake on the Hebei Plain, the Baiyangdian Lake boasts a water area of up to 500 square km. The Lake has the beautiful and unique waterside appeal, and also teams with rich aquatic products, including fish and shrimps. Tourists may also watch fishermen catching fish in the Lake and experience the fishermen's life here.

Being a national resort and scenic spot in China, Beidaihe is 15 km away from Qinhuangdao City in the southwest, and neighborts the Lianfeng Mountain in the north and the Bohai Sea in the south. It is proud of the radiant and enchanting views, pleasant climate, and mild temperatures all year round. Even in the hottest June and July, the average temperature is only 23℃. The entire scenic sopt is roughly 13 km long and 2 km wide, forming a narrow coastal zone from the Geziwo and the Jinshanzui in the east to the estuary of the Daihe River in the west. With the soft sand and even beach, it is a good place to enjoy the seaweather bath. Beidaihe is a famous tourist attraction in China, and also a summer & recuperation resort famous at home and abroad. 

Chengde Mountain Resort

As a world cultural heritage, the Mountain Resort is the biggest royal garden extant in China. Also known as the Rdhe Temporary Imperial Palace, it used to be the place where the emperors of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) escaped from the summer heat and engaged in various political activities. 

The Resort accommodates mountains, plains, and lakes, which form a changeable terrain. Based on the terrain, more than 120 architectures were built, including masions, towers, palaces, attics, houses, pavilions, temples, corridors and bridges. Among them, the 36 scenic spots named by Emperor Kangxi (1654-1722) with four Chinese characters and the 36 scenes entitled by Emperor Qianlong (1711-1799) with three Chinese characters are the most famous.

Eastern Tombs of the Qing Dynasty

Being a world cultural heritage site, the Estern Tombs of the Qing Dynasty (1644- 1911), located in Zunhua County, are surrounded by mountains and accommodate a plain in the center. Covering an area of up to 78 square km, the Estern Tombs of the Qing Dynasty include five emperor's tombs, four queens' tombs, five concubines' tombs and one princess's tomb.

In addition, Empress Dowager Cixi (1835-1908) was also buried here. The entire graveyard takes pride in a vast scale and a solemn atmosphere. To date, the scenic spots open to tourists include the Cixi Tomb, the Dingling Tomb, the Xiaoling Tomb and the Yuling Tomb.

Being a national AAAA scenic spot, the Great Wall at jinshanling (Jinshan Ridge) lies at the juncture between Bake Shiying Town, Luanping County, Chengde City of Hebei Province and Miyun County of Beijing. It is the best reserved section of the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) in China at present. Starting from Longyukou in the west and the Wangjing Tower in the east, it covers a total length of 10.5 km, and is home to 5 passes, 67 towers and 2 beacon towers. Climbing up Wangjing Tower, the highest place of the Jinshan Ridge, one can witness the profile of Beijing at dawn and the countless lights in Beijing at night. 

Looking all around, in the east is the dim Wuling Mountain, in the west the Wohu Ridge stands lofty and firm, in the south is the Miyun Reservoir with shining waves and in the north are the mountains and forests. The tall and beautiful mountains render a magnificent view. 

 

Shanhai Pass

Shanhai Pass

Being a key cultural relic under state protection, Shanhai Pass has earned its name after its geographical location - 15 km to the northeast of Qinghuangdao City and lies between the Yanshan Mountain (Mountain means shan in Chinese) and the Bohai Sea (sea means hai in Chinese). As the first pass of the Great Wall, it neighbors the Great Wall in the east, and men Commerce Street and the hi-tech entertainment area. Here is the venue of many travel and festival events each year.
